NODA offers free Housing Counseling to Lucas County residents who are interested in homeownership and may need direction as to how to reach their dream of homeownership. Housing counseling sessions are available in group and individual formats, and may cover the following topics:

• Deciding whether homeownership is right for you
• Preparing for homeownership
• Shopping for a home that meets your needs
• Getting a mortgage
• Closing a mortgage
• Covering the cost of maintaining the house
• Successfully handling the mortgage obligation
