Marilyn Miller is a senior citizen on a modest, fixed income with no savings to speak of. Her insurance company informed her that her policy would be cancelled if repairs to her roof, soffits, gutters, and paint weren’t made. With a "honey-do" list that long, and no "honey" to do it, where could she turn?
Marilyn called NODA and got a honey of a deal. Shortly after contacting NODA, the repairs were made with help from an emergency home repair grant.

Then the Toledo Olde Towne Community Organization contributed by painting her home’s exterior and removing debris. This collaborative effort resulted in the dramatic transformation of Marilyn’s home from an unhealthy and unsafe eyesore to a beautiful and comfortable neighborhood jewel.
NODA’s efforts seem to have revitalized more than just Marilyn’s home. They also renewed her overall interest in her neighborhood, and she is now an active member of its Block Watch group. |
